MID-ATLANTIC PREP LEAGUE picture

Mercersburg's athletic teams compete in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL). The league includes boarding schools from Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is recognized as an outstanding conference for prep school athletics. Wrestling is considered one of the premier sports in the league, in part due to the presence of perennial power Blair Academy, the #1 ranked high school team in the country over the last five years.

In addition to Blair, traditional prep powers Mercersburg, Peddie and Hill produce highly competitive teams and prep All-American individual results each year.

The league's wrestling competition has employed two different formats over the last few seasons. 2002 brought the dual meet tournament utilized at present. Blair has swept the league competition each year, with Mercersburg battling Peddie and Hill for the runnerup spot the last few seasons. Mercersburg outpaced the Falcons in Peddie's home arena in 2004, but Peddie responded in 2005 and 2006 with wins over the Storm. Mercersburg regained the edge in 2009, finishing second on the strength of a come-from-behind victory in the final round of the round-robin competition.
